Disk formats:
.vmdk (VMware, supported by VirtualBox)
.vdi (VirtualBox, supported by VirtualBox)
.vhd (Microsoft Virtual PC, supported by VirtualBox)
.hdd (Parellels, , supported by VirtualBox)
.qcow2 (Qemu/KVM, , supported by VirtualBox)

VM formats: (machine meta-data)
.vmc (Microsoft Virtual PC, NOT supported by VirtualBox)
.vmx (VMware, NOT supported by VirtualBox)
.ovf (VMware, supported by VirtualBox)
.ova (VMware, supported by VirtualBox)

.vmx and .vmx were *NEVER* supported by VirtualBox.

What is the question ?
