[vbox-dev] VBoxBFE or VirtualBox

I need to run virtualbox without any COM/XPCOM here are the features that I
require:

   1. USB Support
   2. No dependencies on xml files (virtualbox.xml and the machines's xml
   file)
   3. Switch to FullScreen and back (Not really needed)
   4. Zero writes to harddrive (All VMs are run from an ISO)

Where would be the best place to start? Should I start with VBoxBFE and
migrate some features into it, or start with virtualbox GUI and remove
dependencies on COM?

What are the downsides of not using XPCOM/COM?
