Sorry to be chipping in a bit late here.  kmk docs builds the API
documentation, which I'm not sure is what you are looking to do.  To
build the user manual, you will want to set up kmk normally in the root
VBox directory (configure, source env.sh, update svn etc), then change
to "doc/manual" and do kmk there.
