[vbox-dev] Custom Guest Properties

I have modified VBoxControl.

How can I create an installable version which I can install in the guest through guest extensions?

Hi,

Is there a way in VirtualBox to set custom guest properties using VBoxManage and retrieving them inside the guest using VBoxControl? By this I mean properties which are currently not available?

I need a way for the host to notify the guest VM of some external events.

If such functionality is not available, is my best be modifying VBoxManage and VBoxControl.
