Host: Mandriva Linux 2010, x64, Intel Core 2 Q6600, VBox 3.2.0-BETA2
Guest(s): RHEL 5, x64, VirtIO network

Benchmarked via "iperf" 2.0.4

=============================================
Test between two VMs: (different methods of VBox)
=============================================
Connection via VDE: (One VDE switch on host, both VMs connected to it.)
107-150 Mbit/sec

Connection via VBox "intnet":
170-214 Mbit/sec

Connection via VBox "Bridge": (one TAP interface)
162-209 Mbit/sec
=============================================
Test between Host <-> Guest: (different virtual NICs)
=============================================
Connection via VBox "Bridge": (guest has VirtIO, connected to host's eth0)
270-280 Mbit/sec

Connection via VBox "Bridge": (guest has Intel 1000 MT Server,
connected to host's eth0)
136-143 Mbit/sec

Connection via VBox "Bridge": (guest has AMD pcNET-III, connected to
host's eth0)
60-63 Mbit/sec

==================================================
Test between Host <-> Guest: -- Qemu/KVM vs VirtualBox
==================================================
Connection via VBox "Bridge": (guest has VirtIO, connected to host's eth0)
270-280 Mbit/sec

Connection via KVM "Bridge/TAP": (guest has VirtIO, connected to host's tap0)
1.06-1.12 Gbit/sec

Difference is quite Huge.
