Hi,
I'm having the same exact problem on debian/testing, Ubuntu Lucid and Sabayon.

Details:
Host: 2.6.33 kernel (sabayon, close to vanilla) - Virtualbox 3.1.4
(modules and app)
Guest: 2.6.33 kernel (vboxvideo compiled with drm support enabled)
