Status: Mac OS X host

There is ongoing work to support Mac OS X as a host for VirtualBox. This page maintains the current status and lists what has been accomplished and what remains to be done. If you think you can contribute, you are more than welcome!

Accomplished tasks:

  • Initial port of the Runtime to OS X
  • Make things compile

Active tasks:

  • Port the support driver (kernel extension)

Remaining tasks:

  1. Support the Mach-O binary format in the runtime loader so that the GC and R0 modules can be loaded.
  2. Make the recompiler build with gcc 4.x.
  3. TAP networking.
  4. Make XPCOM work on OS X, possibly by updating to the latest version from Mozilla.
  5. Port the Qt GUI to OS X.
  6. VMX support.
Note: See TracWiki for help on using the wiki.
