Description
The bridging feature found in vbox is very very complex and requuires too much low level configuration. Worst of all it does not play well with FireStarter. I think a GUI interface would be much better. It would be nice if we could just simply choose bride/host and the sytemm will then do all the configuration in the background that will not break eth0.

In 2.1.0 we changed the networking model. A VM can now be directly attached to a network interface on the host.

Bridge configuration requires root access but neither the GUI nor the VirtualBox process itself should run with root privileges. Therefore this would require suid. But how should GUI integration help to make it compatible with FireStarter?
