Cannot attach raw disk to SATA controller => fixed in SVN

Reported by: Arief Wibowo Owned by:
Component: virtual disk Version: VirtualBox 3.2.4
Keywords: raw, sata Cc:
Guest type: other Host type: other

Description

Tried to attach a raw host hard disk (as found in help file section 9.7.1.1.) to SATA controller, and the guest machine failed to start.

I have also tried to recreate the guest machine and the disk, to no avail.

Using normal virtual disk images are fine.

And final note, this happens to me in two different host machine, both are running Windows XP, and only after upgrading to 3.2.4. I didnt try 3.2.0, upgraded directly from 3.1.8.

Thanks!

Btw. a workaround is to enable host I/O cache for the SATA controller.
