Looks like the problem is 2D-related. Could you check if your VM runs fine with disabled 2D?

I wish i could but i reverted VB to 3.1.8 (i need it for my work). Is there any way to launch several VB.app with differents versions ? (it's maybe not the place to chat ? i opened a post related to this problem and others here : http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=31913 )

Reverting to VBox 3.1.8 shouldn't be a problem but you can NOT run two different VBox versions on the same host. Therefore, just install the 3.1.8 version.

It would be still interesting if you could check if that VM boots fine with 2D disabled.

So, i ran again 3.2.4, and here are results :

  • No acceleration : runs perfectly (seamless mode ok)
  • 3D acceleration : runs perfectly (seamless mode ok)
  • 2D acceleration : Crash after 30sec, seamless mode displays desktop.

So you were right Frank, problems comes from 2D acceleration :)

Still, i read that it can be possible to run a different version of VB from another session. For now, i don't need it as long as 2D acceleration is deactived or fixed.

Could you check if this unofficial test build fixes your problem by any chance? There is a 2D fix included which could be related to your problem. Thank you!

Hey Frank,

So finally this beta fix the crash problem. BUT, audio is again laggy as hell, and seamless mode displays the desktop. Without 2D acceleration, audio is a bit less laggy, and seamless mode works perfectly… I tested with 3.2.4 GuestAdditions (with and without 2D acc), and 3.2.6b GA (with and without 2D acc).

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

Let's close this ticket as fixed (3.2.6 is out). Please open a new ticket for the remaining problems if you think they are all 2D-related.
