Description
Installed VirtualBox-3.1-3.1.2_56127_fedora12-1.x86_64. D/L current F12 x86_64 iso.
Try to boot F12_x86_64 as guest on F12_x86_64 host. Guest panics.

Hmmm... strange error.
So you're running Fedora 12 x64 on Fedora 12 x64 on Intel Core2+ (Penryn Class CPU).
I was able to successfully run Fedora 12 x64 on Windows XP SP2 32bit on Intel Core2 (Conroe Class CPU) using VBox 3.1.0.

My mistake - I had accidentally selected fedora12 instead of fedora12-64 as the guest OS type.
