    11The above is true for the iso hangs too: the iso was on my SSD until now and just tried to hang it to make sure it still hangs and it does (via dd if=/dev/sr0 of=/dev/null bs=1 skip=45084671 count=2); then copied the iso to /tmp (tmpfs) then removed the old iso from the CD drive of the VM, browsed for the one in /tmp and added it to the VM as CD, booted 'existing OS'(that doesn't hang) then tried to hang with the same dd, no hang, tried a full-on dd (via dd if=/dev/sr0 of=/dev/null) and no hang!
