<div>Hi,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I have tested this problems in 3 diferent´s
computers (2 with windows 10 a 1 one with windows
8.1 and the result was the same). I installed
virtualbox and guest additions and make a virtual
machine with windows XP. Inside the guest machine, i
ping to the host computer and i cannot find the host
(i find all others computers in network and i tested
to ping from another computer´s to this host machine
and it find it). I tried to find a solution in the
forums with no sucess and make many others
diferent´s test to see if i can a solution. And,
indeed, i find a solution but, to me, it seems like
a bug... i start the virtualbox and the guest
machine (windows xp) and then, go to the ethernet
configuration of the host machine (where is the IP
adress, ...) and change something in there (for
example, "Clients for Microsoft Network" and put it
back again) and click in OK. when i go to the guest
machine and ping to the host IT WORK´S. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Can you see this situation ?</div>

Luis, I believe I'm having the same problem, see the earlier email
thread in this list "Host-only network not working for the VM that
boot up first".<br>

Thanks<br>
