This is a bug in the script which transforms the XML text to HTML.
The PDF version of the user manual which can be downloaded from

  http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.2.4/UserManual.pdf

does not have this problem.

That copyright statement can be found in that chapter above, see

As for the code derived from BSD, you are right, we apparently forgot
to mention some of this code. We will carefully check the code and
add the missing statements soon.
